KENYA - MASAI MARA - SPECIAL BIG CATS SAFARI
Embark on the ultimate wildlife photography expedition in Kenya’s legendary Maasai Mara, guided by renowned photographer Roie Galitz. This exclusive journey takes you deep into one of Africa’s most iconic reserves, home to the Big Five, sprawling savannas, and some of the most breathtaking wildlife encounters on the planet.
The adventure begins in Nairobi, where we take a scenic domestic flight directly to the Maasai Mara, maximizing our time in the field. Upon arrival, we settle into our luxurious safari camp, strategically located along the Talek River, offering prime access to wildlife hotspots.
Each day, we set out before dawn, tracking lion prides, elusive leopards, cheetahs on the hunt, and massive elephant herds. With Roie’s expert guidance, participants will refine their photography skills, mastering composition, lighting, and storytelling techniques to capture nature’s raw beauty. From golden sunrises over the plains to dramatic predator-prey interactions, every moment is an opportunity for an unforgettable shot.
Roie’s deep knowledge of the region and passion for conservation provide insightful storytelling, bringing us closer to Africa’s fragile ecosystems. Evenings are spent reviewing photos, sharing experiences, and learning advanced photography techniques under the vast African sky.

Day 1: Meet in Nairobi– Kenya – Maasai Mara
We will meet in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya. From there, we will take a domestic flight to the Maasai Mara Reserve (a significant time saver compared to traveling by road). Upon arrival, we will be greeted by the local team and continue to our lodge.
🏕️ Accommodation: Tipilikwani Mara Camp or similar
Day 2: Maasai Mara – The Ultimate Safari Experience
After an early wake-up, with packed breakfasts and lunches, we will head into the reserve to begin our first day in one of the most powerful and wildest nature reserves in the world – the Maasai Mara. The reserve’s name combines that of the local Maasai tribe and the Mara River, which flows through it.
The Maasai Mara is considered one of the most beautiful and diverse reserves in Africa, home to nearly 100 species of mammals, close to 400 species of birds, and, of course, Africa’s "Big Five" – the elephant, lion, rhinoceros, African buffalo, and leopard.
Additionally, the reserve is home to a coalition of five male cheetahs, which have been hunting together for the past few years – a truly rare sight!
At sunset, we will return to our lodge, which is excellently located right on the banks of the Talek River (one of the main tributaries of the Mara River). After dinner, if time permits, we will hold an additional photography lesson to further refine our wildlife photography techniques.
🏕️ Accommodation: Tipilikwani Mara Camp or similar
Days 3 – 7: Exploring the Depths of the Maasai Mara
Each day, we will venture into the vast landscapes of the reserve, searching for the famous lion prides that roam the rocky areas (Maasai Mara has the highest density of lions in Africa!). We will also track cheetahs, leopards, and hyenas.
Our extended stay in the reserve, combined with the expertise of our skilled guides, will allow us to witness some of the most incredible wildlife moments – as if taken straight from a National Geographic documentary!
In the evenings, if time and energy permit, we will engage in photo reviews, lectures, or simply enjoy the magical African night sky filled with countless stars – an experience only Africa can offer.

Day 8: Final Day in the Maasai Mara – Nairobi
At sunrise, we will head out for one last safari in the Maasai Mara, with packed breakfasts to make the most of our time in the wild.
Afterward, we will take a domestic flight back to Nairobi (saving a long road journey) and conclude our incredible adventure.
